Is there anything that expresses more than a thousand words? Sure! Rafaello pralines! Who does not know these small, white pralines with an unusual, velvety taste of milk cream, coconut flakes and nut "heart"!

Rafaello is one of the most popular and recognizable sweets on our planet. It might seem that they have always been with us.

Ah, that beautiful Italy!

Ferrero pralines are a confectionery brand owned by the Italian company Ferrero. The origins of this company, known all over the world today, date back to the first half of the 20th century! Its creator was Pietro Ferrero, born in 1898 - a gifted man who began to try his hand at confectionery and developing his own recipes. In 1946, he opened a small but elegant cafe in the picturesque town of Alba in the Piedmont. He was largely assisted in running the business by his wife Pier Ciliaro. It was thanks to her that he had time to spend hours in his laboratory, where he developed confectionery recipes.

However, the popularity of the perfect-tasting confectionery soon overshadowed the cafe itself. Piera closed the place so that she could help her husband in his confectionery work with even greater commitment. Apparently, it is thanks to her that, at the very beginning of its existence, the company developed long-lasting and trust-based relationships that remain the hallmark of Ferrero to this day.

Slow conquest of the world

Pietro Ferrero died in 1949, but the confectionery activity was continued by his sons - Michel and Giovanni. They managed to introduce more products to the market, including the first children's breakfast bars "Sultanino" and "Creamblock", which had been produced since 1951. They quickly gained recognition throughout Italy.

The road to world conquest began in 1956 when Ferrero opened its first foreign branch in Stadtallendorf, Germany. In the 1960s, branches were established in other countries: France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Great Britain.

In anticipation of the all-time hit

Although Ferrero products quickly conquered the whole world, the world had to wait for the appearance of the great-tasting Rafaello until 1990! It was then that the production of these unique pralines began. At that time, was it expected that these coconut-flavored delicacies would become one of the brand's flagship products, next to Nutella or Ferrero Rocher pralines?

Rafaello pralines are loved all over the world for their delicate creamy taste, broken by the bitterness of the peanut inside. They are a popular snack for coffee, are often presented as gifts, known and recognized almost everywhere.

Successful conquest of Russia

Ferrero pralines managed what even Napoleon dreamed of - to conquer Russia! It is in this country that the consumption and sales of Rafaello achieve the highest results! Already in 2009, the brand gained the 1st place in the ranking of "Brand No. 1 in Russia", collecting 39% of all votes. Since 2010, a factory of these sweets was established in the village of Worsza in the Volodymyr Oblast. The biggest in the world!

The plant in Worsza releases about 8,000 tons of Rafaello pralines annually on the Russian market. Interestingly - the sweets produced there also go to other foreign markets! Since 2016, pralines produced in Russia have been delivered to Brazil (over 50 tons of Rafaello were delivered there by mid-2017) and to the Polish market (230 tons)!
