Holidays are a special time of joy and building closeness with the family. One of the very important aspects of this period is undoubtedly the Christmas decorations. Recently, a very original habit of creating hand-made Christmas decorations from sweets has started to appear in many homes.
This custom allows you to introduce a nice, Christmas mood at home, and at the same time is a great, integrative game for the whole family. An additional advantage of this type of sweet masterpieces is the possibility of consuming the ornaments at a later time, which will please both small and "big" children.
So what kinds of cute holiday decorations do we have?
Plastic candy balls
The above proposal of sweet decorations is definitely an option for minimalists, because its execution is child's play. It is a transparent, openable bauble that can be filled with any candy.
For chocolate lovers, we have the following filling proposal:
- Kinder Surprise,
- 3 Kinder Chocolate bars
- A mix of Schoko Bonns with Kinder Bueno Mini.
- Milky Way Crispy Rolls,
- M & M's.
However, for those who prefer sweets without chocolate, we present the following alternative:
- Fruit bar,
- 2 Chupa Chups lollipops,
- Haribo jelly beans,
- a few pieces of soluble gums or jellies with fruit juice.
Candy Christmas decorations
It is an offer that gives you the greatest scope. The base will be to prepare a polystyrene skeleton to which it will be possible to stick sweets, e.g. Michaszki candies or individual Kinder Schoko Bonns or Kinder Bueno Mini pieces.
Such a polystyrene base may have the shape of, for example, a cone, which, after wrapping with candies, will imitate a mini candy Christmas tree, as well as a circle shape, which will then turn into a candy or chocolate Christmas centerpiece. Here you can let your imagination run wild or use the inspirations available on the Internet [1].
Snow balls from Raffaello
If you want your Christmas tree to give the impression of being covered with snow, and thus introduce more winter aura to your home, you must try Christmas decorations using Raffaello candies. These small white balls, despite their inconspicuous appearance and small size, can work wonders. They will work as Christmas decorations, both on a Christmas tree and garland, or as an addition to a Christmas centerpiece.
Christmas ornament from Kinder Surprises
It is widely known that the Egg Surprise from Kinder is a sensation among children and adolescents. Nevertheless, not everyone is aware that this popular sweet can also have an additional function (and at the same time an attraction for the youngest members of the household), in the form of an extraordinary Christmas tree ornament.
One of the easiest ways is to tie an egg with a ribbon, for which you can hang it on a twig. It is also recommended to wrap Kinder Eggs with decorative paper of different colors in order to enhance the final effect.
Option for ambitious people
If creating sweet decorations from ready-made sweets does not satisfy your ambitions (and appetite), we suggest preparing a large chocolate ornament in the shape of a Christmas ball from scratch. Here is the proposed recipe for preparing such an ornament:
At the beginning, the chocolate (eg Milka) should be dissolved in a pot with hot water. Then prepare a small balloon and inflate it to a medium size. The previously dissolved chocolate is gently applied with a brush to most of the balloon. It is important that the chocolate is cooled down, because hot chocolate will cause the balloon to burst. The painted Christmas ball should be put in the fridge for 15 minutes, preferably placing the smeared part on baking paper. After this time, apply 2 more layers of chocolate, and when applying the last layer together, sprinkle the whole bauble with sprinkles (caramel or nut). The Christmas ball prepared in this way should be cooled in the refrigerator for 6 hours. When the chocolate on the bauble is completely solidified, the balloon should be pierced and gently torn off the inside. The inside of the bauble can be filled with e.g. whipped cream combined with meringue. After it solidifies, we can decorate it with sprinkles or sweet syrup again.
And voila!
