Every day we hear more than once that we should dose the amount of sweets wisely. Pleasures can easily turn into small, and in a moment even larger sins, which may have a negative impact on our health and appearance. No wonder - after all, sweets are a whole lot of calories, carbohydrates, fat and protein.

However, sometimes there are no situations in which our body needs all of this?

Trekking and eating in a backpack

You can feel the spring in great leaps, and the warm rays of the sun encourage you to take up outdoor activities. Certainly, many mountain hiking enthusiasts are waiting for the snow to melt on the slopes and it will be possible to travel for kilometers on the trails again, surrounded by the beauty of nature. However, whoever has gone for an intense walk in the Karkonosze, Bieszczady or Tatra Mountains at least once knows how exhausting this activity can be.

You should have everything with you

Route planning is important. However, even if there are stops in the form of shelters along the way, you should always have the basic equipment with you. One of the elements is food, which can be beneficial in a situation where we are caught by a drastic "power drop" (and it is really not difficult). And all the more so, people planning a few days' trip away from civilization must take care of it. Many of us have a dilemma: what should a snack be taken in a backpack?

Producers are outdoing each other

In recent years, there has been a certain "boom" in mountaineering, trekking and climbing activity. This entails a whole host of industries that create the products needed to practice your favorite activity. We can mention here, for example, manufacturers of sports equipment, technical clothing and food.

Multi-day expeditions have their own rules, but even when going on a one-day trip, you should have provisions with you. Here, producers compete in ideas and marketing tricks by offering, for example, various bars: protein, health, energy and those that do not freeze. Yes, these are often high-quality products, but they are also simply - expensive.

Mountaineer in a market

Is it possible to take only "dedicated", expensive products with you to the mountains? Of course not! In our favorite supermarket or even a shop just around the corner, we can find products that we can take with us in a backpack. And what's more - they will be very well-known sweets. Someone may complain that such products have a lot of sugar in them. But intensive or extreme trekking is a situation where not only we can, but also should provide this sugar to the body!

What to take in the backpack?

One of the suggestions can be, for example, the popular Snickers - it contains not only cocoa and caramel, but also peanuts. And they are often a component of dedicated products for athletes. After all, they are quite caloric, very energetic and they are perfect for killing hunger! Mars with a nougat-caramel filling or a Lion bar - especially in the "Peanut" version, can work similarly. These bars are quite caloric - 100 g contain over 400 calories. They are light, take up little space (which is really important) and at the same time they can reliably meet our caloric demand. And there is nothing to be ashamed of - even the world's top climbers and climbers take these popular bars for trips.

Traditional chocolate

Did former mountaineers and hikers have dedicated sports bars and freeze-dried food? Of course not! The inventory was dominated by sandwiches, kabanos sausages, luncheon meat and chocolate. Because isn't it an excellent source of energy? In addition, it weighs little and does not take up much space, so it can easily fit into a packed backpack. Of course, dark chocolate will be the best. However, if you are a milk chocolate lover, it will not be a big offense here.

When everything freezes

Sweet snacks in winter are a bit more problematic. More than one skier or winter mountaineer almost broke his teeth on a frozen and hard bar. Are we doomed to expensive and dedicated sports bars in the cold months? Of course not! Halva will be their store and at the same time an excellent replacement. It does not freeze, it is oily, with calories and can provide energy for half a day.

Rational nutrition is the basis

When preparing for trekking and hiking, first of all, take care of balanced and rational nutrition. A decent breakfast, rich in proteins and complex carbohydrates (longer release of energy - ensure its stable level and long-lasting feeling of satiety) must be the basis.

Sweets in your inventory cannot be the basis of your diet! They are snacks that quickly fill up the caloric deficit and add strength on the trail. Most of them contain simple sugars, which are quickly metabolized - this is where we feel a quick kick of energy, which can be extremely helpful in a crisis situation. The energy boost, however, passes much faster than with complex carbohydrates. That is why the latter should be the basis, and simple sugars - an emergency and, at the same time, very tasty - a snack.
