The alcohol theme appears very often in the movies. Sometimes you can see your favorite characters holding a glass of wine or a glass of whiskey in their hand.

This does not mean that the characters played by the actors are constantly drunk, but it cannot be denied that alcohol is ubiquitous in cinematography. The type of drink depends largely on the film genre and the social status of a given character.

Why do influential people in the movies drink whiskey?

Surely everyone has caught the eye of the fact that businessmen and other influencers in movies usually drink whiskey. Why is it like that? Marketing plays a major role. The Scots, famous for the production of this alcohol, took great care of the promotion. Whiskey has come to be associated with qualities such as masculinity, strength, courage and intelligence. It was enough to make this drink extremely popular, especially among men.

Another factor influencing his fame is that whiskey is unique and valuable - especially perennial. In addition, this drink is associated with high social status. In the 16th century, it was very common among the elite, thanks to the King of Scotland, James IV. Later, other people associated with wealth turned to whiskey. We can mention Winston Churchill and Mark Twain, among others.

However, it is not difficult to notice that over time, other alcohols began to appear on the screen. In recent years, wine has started to be used with great enthusiasm.

Wine in iconic productions

One of the most popular film wines is Chianti, which owes its fame to one scene with Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs from 1991. This drink also appears in the movie A Walk in the Clouds, where the main character goes to a vineyard and finds love there. A similar fate befell the characters from the film Bezdroża. However, those who travel through the vineyards find the meaning of life.

Wines are very popular in Czech cinematography because they are associated with the colors of South Moravia - the region of wine cellars. Films such as Young Wine and 2 Young Wines are known among others.

In addition, wine is a dry alcohol that is associated with love. It also brings a moment of relaxation, rest and peace to mind.

Martini in the James Bond movies

Surely everyone has heard of the world's most famous special agent - James Bond. In his case, there was also alcohol. The hallmark of the hero is vesper martini, a mixture of vodka, gin and Lillet liqueur. It applies especially to older, classic productions. The contemporary James Bond is equally eager to drink beer.

Serial drinks

The light and fun character of the series is a perfect match for drinks and beer. They blend in perfectly with the relaxed atmosphere and meet the tastes of young heroes. They are associated with fun, humor and a light story. They are very common especially in American productions.

As you can see, alcohol appears on the silver screen very often. Heroes belonging to different social groups and of different ages drink it.
