Vodka is the most popular alcoholic beverage in the world. It consists of an alcoholic distillate diluted with water in a ratio of two to three. It was once used for medical purposes and the production of perfumes.

Nowadays, it is eaten for pleasure - either alone or in the form of a colorful drink. After the invention of distillation columns in 1831, the taste of vodka improved significantly. In Poland, it is used by both men and women - regardless of age.

As the fourth largest vodka market in the world, we can boast of a wide range of high-percentage solutions on store shelves - including Premium and Super-Premium classes.

Types of vodka

The most general division includes pure vodkas and quality vodkas - additionally containing plant extracts, aromatic oils and sugar.

The title classification of spirits: Standard, Premium and Super-Premium concerns pure solutions. Additionally, it can be extended with Wyborowe and Luxurious vodkas.

  • Plain vodkas - they are made on the basis of rectified spirit diluted with water.
  • Select pure vodkas - are made in the process of double distillation.
  • Luxurious pure vodkas - are made in the process of multiple distillation.
  • Pure Premium and Super-Premium vodkas - are made in the process of multiple distillation and filtration.

Ordinary, Select and Luxurious vodkas can be classified as Standard liquors. These relatively inexpensive drinks are characterized by a fairly common flavor. Often made from molasses, distilled "quickly" and subjected to heavy distillation will not appeal to the sophisticated palate.

Select and Luxurious vodkas sometimes contain pearls made of barley (light, crisp, dry), rye (slightly sweeter), wheat (richly textured) and potatoes (with a specific, creamy texture).

The best and the most expensive alcohols are in the Premium and Super-Premium classes. These vodkas can boast of unusual ingredients, original production methods or the unusual origin of the water they are diluted with. They are also distinguished by the characteristic packaging and labeling.

It has been assumed that the more expensive the alcohol, the higher its Premium class. However, there is no strict framework in which to enclose individual vodkas. The price is influenced not so much by the taste of the drink, but primarily by marketing and branding. A properly selected advertising company guarantees a given brand interest, which can help it "jump" from class to class. An example of Polish Super-Premium vodka - the first Polish vodka with international luxury status - is Belvedere. For North America, an example of a top-shelf product is Skyy Vodka, produced in California - a spirit that is gradually gaining popularity also in Europe.
