It's hard to imagine a party without any alcohol. Vodka appears on the table most often - a universal, high-percentage solution that can be combined with practically anything. Each alcoholic drink should be drunk skillfully, preferably with a little snack before each glass.

What is the best way to combine vodka and which combinations to avoid?

Vodka + other alcohol

Combining vodka with other alcohols - especially high-alcohol ones - is not the best idea. Wine, beer or liqueur together with 40% vodka can make you intoxicated quickly. Few people can withstand such a mixture. If there is more alcohol at the party, it is best to start with low-alcohol and end with the strongest.

The exception to the above is drinks. Two or even three different alcohols are often used to create them. Liqueurs are in the lead in this respect. The proportions depend on the specific drink, although they usually do not exceed 35% alcohol. The most popular drink ingredients are:

  • Blue Curacao - sweet orange liqueur with a blue color (20-25% alcohol),
  • Cointreau - triple sec bitter orange liqueur (at least 40% alcohol),
  • Bailey's - Irish liqueur made on the basis of cream and whiskey, with the addition of cocoa and vanilla (17% alcohol),
  • Peach liqueur,
  • Coffee liqueur and chocolate liqueur,
  • Mint liqueur,
  • Coconut liqueur.

More sophisticated drinks - with vodka or liqueur - also contain gin, white rum and tequila. In their case, the proportions are especially important. Typically, the volume of the individual alcohols is 25 milliliters. Vodka with beer is nothing more than the famous U-Boot - a strong drink, the correct preparation of which will allow its gourmets to avoid a hangover. It is important not to mix the whole thing after throwing the glass with vodka into a mug.

Vodka + juice or carbonated drink

Vodka is perfectly combined with non-carbonated fruit juices. Blackcurrant, orange and grapefruit effectively mask its taste, making it more pleasant to taste. In the case of drinks, cranberry juice, pineapple juice and lemon juice are also very popular. It is also impossible not to mention the combination of vodka with carbonated drinks. Tonic, Sprite or 7Up breaks popularity records in this case. There are also cocktails with Coca-Cola or plain water.

Particularly sophisticated vodka-based drinks with a distinctive flavor contain ingredients such as condensed milk, tomato juice, pepper, Tabasco sauce, raspberry juice and grenadine. Many very interesting cocktails are made on the basis of syrups or special bartender stews - an example is the popular Italian orange Campari bitter. Finally, vodka-based drinks are supplemented with fresh fruit, ice, spices, sugar syrup, herbal liqueurs or mint leaves.
